Hello plant friends! I just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Camille Cheever. I’m going to be writing blog posts for Garden Gateway from here on out. I imagine you would like to hear about my background in plants. I come from a family in which there has always been an interest in plants. My mother, her mother, and both of her grandmothers were very involved and passionate about plants. All of them have kept beautiful gardens. My mother and several siblings also spent many years working at plant nurseries as well, and one sibling has a professional career as a landscape designer. My first job was at a plant nursery, and I have worked with plants for most of my life since then, both personally and professionally. I had the special privilege of working at Garden Gateway for several years when I was living in Logan. I also grew up in a farming community, and I was actively involved in a fair amount of work that was done in the area.
I have a handsome husband and two adorable children, all of whom are learning to love plants as much as I do. This is being forced on them, though, since I happen to have an overly abundant collection of indoor succulents, as well as a variety of other house plants. I have a bachelor’s degree in social work. I enjoy helping people be happy, just like I enjoy helping my plants be happy. Aside from my plant passion, I also love to do a wide variety of craft and artwork, and I am a passionate musician. With all of my passions and pursuits, I hope to be able to help all of you gain better understanding and knowledge about how to care for your gardens and plants, and we can improve our world together!
